I’d like to pick the collective brains please. Does anyone know the approximate surface area of the hulls of a HT26, both the above waterline area and below waterline area? I’m trying to work out how much paint will be needed, so a rough idea will be good enough. Thanks a lot
As a rough rule of thumb for anti-fouling my HT I would use approx. one litre per coat per hull. I use a roller which can spread it out quite thin but is good enough. So four litres would give each hull two coats. Also I do not have a boot-topping instead I raise the anti-foul a couple of inches above the water line.
when I painted mine I bought 5 litres of primer & 5 litres of 2 pack. I bought more 2 pack later which is fine if you don’t wail to long between coats, if you do you will need to re abraded the surface. You must be careful with the primer though as you need to get a top coat on within a specified time ( before the primer fully cures) . Hope for 2 days of good weather. Good luck.
