The 38ft Centre Cockpit Ocean Cruising Catamaran
Hand laid up GRP to designer’s specified layup. White gelcoat to hulls, grey gelcoat to coachroof and deck. Hull topsides are of sandwich construction using biaxial rovings with a chopped strand backing and a high density foam core. Below the waterline clear gel and isopthalic resins are used with a solid multidirectional laminate. The coachroof and deck is hand laid using both quadriaxial and biaxial rovings, incorporating a rigid PVC foam. Strengthening pads are bonded into all high load areas. The deck, coachroof and cockpit have moulded in non slip panels. Internal structural bulkheads are of glass fibre with foam core or plywood bonded to hull and deck. Buoyancy compartments are fitted fore and aft in both hulls.
Deck Fittings
All fittings are of marine grade stainless steel or aluminium
4 X 12″ deck cleats; 2 X 10″ deck cleats.
1 X heavy duty bow roller.
8 X 24″ stanchions and bases with double life lines. 2 X 24″ pulpits. 2 X 24″ pushpits.
1 set aluminium framed windows.
1 mainsheet arrangement. 2 genoa tracks and sliders. 2 turning blocks. 2 X 40:1 self tailing sheet winches. 1 X 16:1 self tailing mainsheet winch.
3 X Moonlight size 6 hatches. 2 X Moonlight size 2 hatches. 4 size 3 portlights.
2 X cockpit lockers & 2 foredeck lockers, all self draining. 4 cockpit drains.
1 X staysail sheeting arrangement.
4 X teak handrails. 1 set of chainplates.
2 X deck fillers – water. 2 X deck fillers fuel. 1 Plastimo bulkhead compass. 1 X SL Anchorman windlass.
Plumbing
2 water tanks each with 35 gallon capacity. Pressurised water system feeding hot and cold water to galley, forward cabin and heads. Manual hand pump back-up to galley. Manual selector for feeding from either tank. 2 Whale Gusher bilge pumps. Gas feed in 10mm copper pipe from 15 kg gas bottles in a self draining locker. Stowage for 2nd gas bottle.
| Electrical System Two 55 AMPHR engine starting batteries and two deep cycle domestic batteries. 2 battery selector switches. Switch panel with circuit breakers feeding the following items:- interior lights, combined tricolour and anchor light, steaming and deck light, port and starboard navigation lights at deck level, compass and instrument lights, Nautech ST50 log, echo sounder, wind speed & direction. | ![]() |

Anodised aluminium alloy spars, the sections used are from Z Spars. The mast is a 7 kg section 13.41m in length, fitted with main, genoa, spinnaker and staysail halyards and cleats. Topping lift, burgee and flag halyards fitted. All ropes are braid on braid polyester. A combination tricolour/anchor light fitted to the masthead. The boom is 3.5 kg section 3m long, fitted for slab reefing with outhaul and reefing pennants. Standing rigging in 1 X 19 316 stainless steel and all terminals are roll swagged and fully toggled. Roller furling gear for headsail.
Accommodation
Aft Cabins
Mirror image port and starboard cabins. Each cabin has a double berth with 4″ foam mattress, a large hanging wardrobe, lockers, drawers and a vanity unit; opening deck hatches and portlights. The cabins are finished with fabric, vinyl and satin finished woodwork.
Walkthroughs and Toilets
Walkthrough to aft cabin. Pilot berths under the cockpit coaming if required. Door to toilet compartment. Par Brydon sea toilets with seacoks, wash basin and shower, hot and cold pressurised water system, mirror. Opening hatch and opening portlight. Moulded finish and satin finished woodwork.

Fitted with two sinks, gas water heater, hot and cold pressurised water and a manual back-up pump, cooker hob with 3 burners, eye level grill and oven, refrigerator and insulated cool box, cupboards, drawers, Moulded work surfaces, opening hatch and opening portlight.
Saloon
Wrap around settee unit, large table and cocktail cabinet. Navigation table with seat and stowage for books, charts etc. 2 opening hatches. Wet locker. Step down to stowage area with hanging lockers and drawer units. Finished in fabric, vinyl and satin finished woodwork.
Forward Cabin
Door to forward cabin with double berth, hanging locker and cupboards. Basin hot and cold pressurised water, mirror, opening hatch and opening portlight.
Steering
Twin stainless steel rudders protected behind skegs. Steering arms fitted to the top of the stock are operated by a Vetus MT65 hydraulic system with emergency tiller. Wheel to be warm touch type.
Sails ^,
White terylene fully battened mainsail 8oz 250 sq ft. Roller furling genoa 8oz 350 sq ft. Staysail 8oz 80 sq ft. Mainsail cover. Mainsail is fitted with 2 rows of slab reefing points.
Engines
2 Yanmar 18 hp vertical twin cylinder diesel marine engines, flexible mountings with conventional shafting arrangements via deep sea seals; folding propellers. Filtered raw water cooled engines, ball valve skin fittings. 2 X 24 gallons fuel tanks, each with fuel gauge and in line filter. Water cooled exhaust with water-lock and muffler. Insulated and ventilated engine rooms. Single lever controls for gear and throttle, separate engine stop control. Instrument panel incorporating key switch, push button starter, alarm lamp for battery not charging, low oil pressure and cooling water high temperature alarm buzzer. 55 amp alternator.
Loose Items
35 lb CQR main anchor. 6 metros of 10mm chain spliced to 30 metres of 16 mm 3 strand nylon warp. 6 fenders. 2 X 20 metre warps. 2 X 10 metre warps. 2 locking winch handles. 2 bilge pump handles.
