Has anyone altered the rig on a Mk II/III to that of a HT 27. Did it work and were there any snags? I'm about to try it on a stripped out hull. Its looks simple enough and would allow tighter sheeting in for the genoa – hopefully allowing the cat to point a little higher with less leeway. Any thoughts?

        Hi Bonzo,

When I owned Camargue (HT MK III) I gave this same idea serious consideration…..but decided that I would need to remove most of the paneling from inside the main bulkhead to allow access to the main bulkhead so that it could be reinfoced to take the additional loadings. Additionaly you will need to consider moving the genoa track from the deck to the aft cabin roof with suitable internal reinforcing.

If your in a position where you have a stripped out hull this is certainly something you could entertain but you may want to take advice on how best to reinforce the areas to take the additonal load.

Keep us posted how you get on.

        Bruce
