I am trying to put together a short history plus registry for the OW33….it seems only a couple of dozen were built..if anybody has any information at all…anecdotal, factual, technical or from experience I would be happy to receive this. It has been suggested that the production records have been lost but I would be extremely pleased to find out they are somewhere. In particular I would appreciate info on the internal structure, engine type, rigging, names: current and original, of actual boats. I have of course seen the various bits and pieces available on the web and have read “In the Wake of Drake” so I am really after unpublished personal stuff.
Thanks

8th September 2012 at 12:44 pm #11988More than happy to, Mike….but facts seems thin on the ground. Hopefully when folks return from their Summer wanderings the cupboard of knowledge will be shown to be full and its contents made available to me. Most of my current info is, by its nature, cut 'n paste from old articles but hopefully I have chosen the more digestible bits. Currently figuring out mast heights from photos using school geometry…sad or what?!! Any piece can, of course, be added to as time/knowledge permit. I feel certain that many people will have snippets of info/memories which if not recorded will vanish….only time will tell. Cheers
P.s. Members might like to send me stuff direct to my email rather than comment here…especially if the comments/memories are controversial or litigious!

Have you made any progress on your search for information? I am an OW33 owner and have tried to find information also but have not been able to find anything other than a few articles. Would be interested in what you have found.
