When sailing;where do you sit? I.ve tried on the bench in the cockpit but I cant see anything in front because i'm too low. on the aftcabinroof, too high I have to steer with the feet and it doesn't work at all with the sheets . On the boardside of the wheel bench,I get a twisted back (ache). On top of the boardside entrance 'backrest-higher place' rested against the aftcabin, júst too far to steer the wheel.
Has anyone installed a powerboat-like seat behind the wheel or cushions or so? Is there a good solution? Or are you all sitting and standing up all the time like I did up to now!
Juup3rd November 2006 at 10:23 am #11368Hi juup, I scour the internet looking for ideas of how to adapt and improve my HT26 and came across an HT26 seating arrangement – I have submitted the photo for you of a seating arrangement to the pictures section it just has to wait to be approved. I hope it helps you.

3rd November 2006 at 11:24 am #11369Juup…when I had an HT we did fit a small helmsman seat by the wheel. It interfered with the opening of the aft cabin door (just) but made long stints of helming easier. If you are careful and pick a small slimline seat, it will probably work for you. You can easily sit on the aft cabin with remote control for the autopilot, or in the other places you suggested. Hope you find the solution. Chrissie
3rd November 2006 at 12:03 pm #11371We have a HT 27 and we removed the opening aft cabn doors and fitted wash boards. This does give you more room. I could not find a small enough seat to give me leg room. Hope you find something. If you do, please let us know.

4th December 2006 at 8:35 pm #11373er…I am always on the auto-pilot 'cos I am usually fishing, navigating or fiddling with the sails or something. Is this just me or are there others out there who get bored stupid just steering? I would love to see the pictures of a good seat though.

5th December 2006 at 4:26 pm #11372I've tried measuring for a seat but no design would allow me to use the cockpit locker
7th December 2006 at 9:12 pm #11374Hi – I have a picture of a heavenly twins with a seating arrangement which allows access to the aft cabin – I can send it to you but I will also try and post it on the website.

11th December 2006 at 1:52 pm #11376Hi Sassy could you pls send me the picture as well?
I'm thinking of mounting a swingable seat on a 90 degrees bent tube at the boardside of the cockpit, so it can be moved foreward-left.
I hope you still have my e-adress or else
juupdales(#$^&Â¥)chello.nl4th May 2007 at 7:19 am #11377I,ve bought a barstool that I can throw away if it does not work. So far so good.
When sailing in calm weather its fine, up to now. As it's hight is variable we also use it at the cockpittable,
Don't forget to read our story (in Dutch) of the trip over the Rhone, Saone, Rhone-Rhinecanal and Rhine. There are also pictures.
