I wrote the email below to Chrissie because I couldn't find the questionnaire on line. However, I felt I would like to air my opinions to all and see how the debate might develop so I've copied the emial below.
Chrissie,I am sorry I can't find the form online. However can I just say that I think the web site is fantastic and essential for the club. The forums/for sale/to buy areas are great. To be honest I probably wouldn't continue my membership if the site disappeared (I am too far away to benefit from the meets [unfortunately]).
I would say that a professional site is well worth paying for if that's what's needed to protect it and decrease the burden on those currently running the site. To go further if we can't afford the website I would suggest we stop the paper version of the newsletter and place it online. The newsletter articles would be much better presented online anyway and save on postage and printing. Those that require a paper copy could pay an extra fee for printing and postage.
I'd be very happy for my comments/opinions to be shared with other members.
Best wishes,
Alastair Sutherland (RnR)

In the absence of the questionnaire electronically, I'll answer here…. In terms of the questionnaire: 1 (c); 2 (a) and (f); 3 Tips/comments/insider views on berthing locations by Htcc members could post (eg I made it single-handed to Dartmouth last year and, unlike the current PBO article on aforesaid, would adivse you that in August berthing is near impossible in the two main marinas for a cat and that, unless you are willing to raft 100 deep, upstream is the answer!); 4 – yes, definitely; 5 Yes, especially if that is the advice of the webmaster (plus deliver the magazine electronically only, plus configure site for mobile devics too). I would support any addition that increases traffic/participation on the site by members – it's all rather slow.
Regards to all
