Has anybody tried to extend the keels on a twins, tigger is an early Mk1 and i am fed up trying to live at an angle whe the tide goes out ,also it makes it harder to do work to the lower hulls at low water, i know they were extended by 18 inches forward on later versions and this is the only thing that spoils her.

The keels on the Mk 1 were shorter and extended to great benefit in the later models. Many of the older ones now sport extensions to the keels. One that springs to mind is Star Shadow. With age the addition to the keel was showing wear, and it has recently been repaired by the new owner. I am sure they sent me some photos a while back. I will see if I can resurrect those and send to you, and I will contact the Turners to see if they will e mail you direct, either some advice or pictures of what was done on SS. Good luck. I hope you put paid to drying at an angle!

        Regards

        Chrissie
