      We took the mast down this winter and it's now time to put it back up. I marked the bottle screws to show where they were tightened to last time, but I always thought it was a bit loose. I read in this months PBO that you should be able to tighten a bottle screw with an 8 inch screwdriver to as tight as it can go – how tight is your rig because I cold get it pretty darn tight with an 8 inch driver!!!

        That is a great question; my back stays also seem too loose. Apparently having a tuned rig can make quite a difference in performance. But I have no idea how to work out what tension they should be and it’s a little way down on my priority list at the moment.
        Has anyone considered putting a fact sheet together for the different HT’s? i.e. Sail measurements, recommended rig tensions, prop sizes for engine options etc.?
