Ok then, off we go down to Fethiye, and book in a basic but nice little Hotel overlooking the prom and the boats. Heaven.

Got prioroties right, straight down to the marina to check for vacancies.
Yes, 1888 for out HT for one year. The contract starts from when you arrive so you dont have to give an exact date.
No work allowed on the boats and no hard standing. You have to go across the bay to the boatyard but they do have a sort of raising cradle you can get a bottom clean on ????. 🙂

Still don't suppose we will be able to find anywher to live that we can afford.

Well, boat would be ok but first house we looked at was up around 100 steps, and not exactly that livable at the moment. Dont forget it has to be close to the boat, in the town and around 50 grand. Yes I can keep a straight face with the property consultants.

So we looked at another half dozen, some in Calis which has a very big Brit comunity, but to far away from the Marina.
So I suppose it's off the Kemer then. Hang on a sec says the sales man, whe just have this one in but I dont suppose you would be interested.

Cut a very long story short, we are now the owners of a small town house, with a garden, 10 meters from the shops, 300 from the waterfront and 20 mins walk from the marina.

I am now blessed with a superb wife, who has the house in her name, a super son who has recently got married and a marina berth for our HT 20 mins from our house. Heaven.

      Best regards

      Steve.

PS The boats in my name. Good deal EH !

Our favourite place in Turkey was Fethiye. Ocean swan spent a winter hauled at the boatyards at the eastern end of the bay (where all the local gullets go). Had a great time, and were able to do all the jobs needed. The lifting out on a wooden sledge all the way to the top of the rise was not for the faint hearted, but all was well (but very slow). Hope you have as great a time there as we had….

            Regards
