Dear all,
I am currently looking at Heavenly Twins 26 (1990 presumably) for sale (hull number 424 or thereabout according to previous survey). It had seen better times, but might just be salvageable with a proper investment. I am in US, btw – and these boats are pretty rare around here.
I have a few questions for HT26 owners:
– The hull topsides of either hull, especially towards the bow seem to be extremely thin, so much that I am able to flex them by hand (push in slightly and they actually give way). Do you see similar behavior on your boat? I have no experience with multihulls, but on monohull boats this would be quite unusual and not very desirable. I know multihulls are built lite, but wonder if this is reasonable or a peculiarity of this one?– The survey (for previous owner) claims that this boat was built by “Cornish Catamarans”. Is that the usual builder for HT26? Other boats listed different builder as far as I recall.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Havent been an owner for long but ours does not flex at all and in fact I actually commented on this to my wife.Regards

The hull on ours and others I've seen does flex in certain limited places. On a heavily laid up 1970's boat you wouldn't get it for sure. Also the HT has far less woodwork inside (look at the inside of a monohull and it's usually covered in lockers and stuff, all of which stop the hull flexing). In my limited understanding, cat's get their structural integrity in different ways to monohulls, the rigging being a much more important provivdor of hull strength than on a monohull. Good luck with the project, they make truly great boats.
