    What sort of cruising did you have in mind?

    Allegro III is a Mk3 HT26 – the HT27 should perform better, but allot would depend on how hard you wish to push it. With questions like those we could be here for a long time! But . .

    Daily Runs
    Downwind – 100 miles per 24hr.
    Wind on or forward of the beam – 80 miles per 24hr.
    Hard on the wind – zero miles per 24hr. Your supposed to be cruising so avoid going to windward!

    These are averages, my best ever 24hr run is 142 miles and the slowest was 10 miles in 24hr. Your daily runs should be somewhere between the two.

    The answer to your next two questions could fill a book on heavy weather sailing. What bad weather sailing have you experienced?
