    Dear Ivor

I do not know of any of the older HTs having put stoopthroughs in. The height of the hulls (freeboard)was increased when the mark 4a was made and the headroom increased on the HT27. It was at this stage in the design that it was thought there was enough room to be able to stoop through. You would have about four inches less height in your stoopthrough than in those on the HT27. This may or may not be sufficient for you to be comfortable bending that low (and straightening up afterwards). If you go ahead, please do let us know how it turns out. I think you will be the first. Unless someone can tell me different. The alternatvie is to have a fully enclosed cockpit tent so you can walk from back cabin to front in the warm and dry. The big advantage there is that you also get an extra “room” for use during spells of inclement weather. Good luck with whatever you do. Regards
    Chrissie
