Dear Volker
My undertstanding is that all fibreglass boats given enough time can suffer from Osmosis. More prone are the lightweight builds of more recent times. The heavy builds of the 70's and 80's seem to fair rather better. I have known of some HT's with osmosis, but few in comparison to other makes.
Also osmosis is not now thought to be terminal, and the end of the boat. It can be rectified, either by spending enought time or money on the project. My husband and I did our 38 foot boat oursleves in about six weeks, for about £1,500 worth of materials, and a lot of hard work. Professionals would charge 5 to 10 thousand to do it for you, but you save on the effort. Hope this helps.
Regards Chrissie
