Hi Juup, I am a newcomer to this site hence the delayed response. Moving the mainsheet along the track to keep the effort “up and down” (or as near as possible) below the boom is important to control and induce twist in the main and hence maintain the most efficient aerofoil. This will be evident if you have tell-tales on the leach, is important in all cuts of main but has the highset effect when the sail is fully battened and high roached, (as in most cats).
