Star Twins has a very fast hull shape and is deceptively fast, easily sailed and handled craft. Her superb accomodation and excellent headroom, 5ft 10ins headroom on the headroom, 6ft 3ins in the hulls, suggest a lesser performance but many a sailor has been pleasantly suprised by the easy handling and turn of speed she produces.

The standard Star Twins layout includes two single, excellent seagoing berths in the central walkways. These are fitted with hanging lockers, cupboards and vanity units and can be considered as separate cabins or incorporated into the aft double cabins to form an enormous owners stateroom or family room option.
The twin aft double cabins have king size double beds and good hanging and flat storage. Escape size hatches allow for good ventilation and give the berths a light, sunny feel.
The heads compartment is a one piece moulding and is easy to clean and easy to use even at sea and has a hot water heater and shower fitted. Lockers and shelves provide stowage space for all the necessaries.
The spacious airy saloon offers very comfortable seating on a ‘U’ shaped settee around a central dining table with fold down leaves.

The galley is located in the port hull and is a very practical, sea going galley.
Numerous cupboards and cave lockers ensure there is no danger of flying tins and plates at sea and the size and shape of the galley means the cook can safely prepare meals even in very strong winds. There is a good area of work surface, with double sink, fridge, cooker with hob, oven and grill.
Star Twins has one of the best cockpits to be found on a cruising boat. The central cockpit is well protected from the seas and the wind.
There are endless lounging and relaxing positions, a comfortable steering position, and a helmsman’s seat is standard. Because the cockpit is located in the centre of the boat she offers a feeling of security found on very few other boats.
Sail handling can be done from the cockpit, further reinforcing the feeling of security and making the boat ideally suited for short-handed sailing and family sailing

Aft of the cockpit is an enormous, deep locker that can house the single diesel engine, fuel tank, gas bottles, etc and if the twin diesel engine option is chosen the possibilities are endless; compressor and diving bottles, dinghy, liferaft, fenders, buckets, etc, etc.
The standard Star Twins has a Bermudan rig fitted with a fully battened mainsail with lazy jacks, a roller reefing genoa and a self tacking staysail. In a Force 3 she will tack through 85 degrees while sailing at over 6 knots.
The Aerorig® option is available on the Star Twins and will well suit this boat whose “strong points are her excellent handling and good performance” Y. M.
