Hi Volker, the previous owner of my boat SOLTYRKK, planed off the Gelcoat with an Electric plane. He then put about 5 coats of Epoxy on it. I dont know if he used any heat to dry out the hulls.
When I bought her I stupidly put antifouling paint on her instead of using one of the copper compounds. I should have bitten the bullet over cost and gone for the Copper and had ten years free of the task of antifouling the boat. Such is life – you gets what you pay for!
