On mine and possibly standard, the upper cotpit lockers are reasonably shallow but under that is another quite large space which people often use to fit engines.
I have considered the same as you but not using the special batteries. If you look at the spec, several times, they could be usless after 5 years in the Med heat.
I will use more standard batteries.

Pastor Simon has purchesed one of these motors and some of us are awaiting his assesment of it.

By the way I will also keep my 9.9 as it is new. The electric motors will be used mainly for manuvering in marinas etc.
