I have used a simple bridle for may years. It comprises a 7 metre length of plaited mooring line with a 300mm loop in each end and a central anchor chain hook. The loops drop over the bow cleats and the line passes through fairleads on the inboard side of each bow. I anchor in the normal way, set the anchor chain hook onto the chain forward of the bow roller then veer more cable (anchor chain) until the bridle takes the strain and a bight of chain is hanging slack between roller and chain hook. (This ensures that the load is always taken by the cleats and not the windlass, even if the wind/tide increases). A great advantage of using a bridle on a catamaran is that any tendency to sheer at anchor is considerably reduced.
