all,
I cut out the dividing bulkhead in Grey Dove (HT 26) years ago. The bulkhead is a non-structural screen (or curtain) wall and was easily removed. No replacement stiffening is required. The resulting space was massive and I was able to fit two hanging wardrobes and a central rack of drawers on the forward bulkhead with no significant loss of space.
However…….as we are just about to live aboard, we have decided to replace the bulkhead, but offset 600mm to one side, in order to make a small single cabin; for storage or a teenage granddaughter. It still leaves a large and bright double after cabin, with the bunk athwartships. DavidH
