Just a quick post in case you were thinking of seeing the above. All the reviews make out this is a brilliant film: it's NOT! You will be surprised and disappointed from a technical sailing/marine perspective, but also looking at the work as a piece of film making. The storm scenes are a bit of a joke in terms of their realism, and the stupidity of the the guy played by RR will mean you probably have little feeling for the guy at the end of the day. Sure it has the odd moments, but it is not the masterpiece portrayed by many critics. I'd say wait for TV or DVD! Have a happy and healthy New Year. Nick.

I haven't seen this one but have seen the one with Tom Hanks “Captain Philips” a true account of piracy. Now that WAS a good film. Good acting and one of the better films I have seen in a while. I actually stopped breathing briefly a couple of time during that one. I recommend anyway. Chrissie
