In my search for a computer I came across London Chartplotters
http://www.londonchartplotters.com/
….so for notalot I ended up with a computer plus chartplotter! I bought the CF29 …well pleased and can recommend…it comes with a pile of marine books and a tide calculater…seems incredibly good value

Thanks for that link – they do look very good value.
I had a toughbook before for plotting but those ones are already set up and working
which is not always easy.
Please let us know how you get on with it. Will you be using it in the cockpit?Steve
22nd October 2013 at 9:42 am #12053They are all set up..just need time to learn the programme…also comes with an external GPS aerial and mains charger. They recommend their 12v charger…I have a suitable so didn't take up their suggestion. They also say they are sailors so that seems ” a good thing” as well
22nd October 2013 at 10:19 am #12054re. the cockpit…I am working on an external screen on a NMEA 2000 system..the CF29 would be an independent backup to my eyes!
23rd October 2013 at 8:22 am #12055Will you connect the external screen by wireless or run cables?
Look forward to hearing how it all works out.26th December 2013 at 3:29 pm #12056Dave, Will you be coming to the AGM in January at Bournemouth? Is so could you bring your pc so we can look at it?
