Hi,
Just joined the site, this is my first post so go easy if I make a mess of it!
I am buying a Mk II HT26 in the New Year.
I have seen photos of HT's with Spray hoods, something mine doesn't have.
Does anyone have any idea who makes these and a rough estimate of the cost?

24th December 2012 at 8:59 pm #11992Shane, welcome. You may get two replies from me – I did one yesterday but it seems not to have been posted. The gist is that all companies make an offering for a price according to the materials used and their mark up. Make some calls. However, make sure you look at a few designs on existing boats before you go with one. Aerodynamics important, as are water shedding angles – should have NO horizontal areas. Also, think about how it will attach to make a total cockpit cover – you'll want this at some point. Consider doing DIY – make paper templates from an existing boat you like? I'd recommend giving a GRP composite structure serious consideration too – over fabric. Whatever you do, a srayhood is essential in the UK on an HT.
29th December 2012 at 2:04 am #11993Thanks Gee Bee. I live on the Isle of Man and as far as I know, there is no other HT 26 anywhere near me, so looking over a current design is not really an option. The boat comes with a full cockpit cover but would like a sprayhood similar to some I have seen that cover the whole cockpit including the rear cabin hatches. Having never bought a psrayhood I wanted a ballpark figure, 1, 2 or 3 thousand? I would also like to add some form of heating in the future too. Cheers. Shane

very interested in the Propex. Nice one! - AuthorPosts
