Well as i posted a while ago i really thought the rudders on “Twinstar” were not really what i wanted so i have constructed a new pair. I used marine ply bonded and shaped, then covered them in diolene cloth and epoxy. They are basically have the same underwater profile but no massive area exposed above waterline. I will get some pics sorted if anyone fancies doing the same as really pleased with result. Another plus is the stern weight has been reduced. Oh well onto next job.

        Hi dave

I have just taken my rudders of my HT to replace the bushes so it would be a good opportunity to replace them for lighter ones as she does seem to squat at the stern. If you have any photo's showing the “new shape”rudders and the fixings that would be great.
How much do your new rudders weight?

Hi Dave, sorry for delay i have been away. Yes i have been meaning to get some pic and put them on the site, I do have some during construction stage too. I used the origional fittings so that if i sold her and someone wanted old rudders on (cant think why) i could re-fit them. Best e-mail me on drparr@hotmail.co.uk for a quicker reply. Regards David
