Experiences and advice please on HT 26. Is a fully battened mainsail necessary or preferable? Inner forestay is a pain when tacking, especially single-handed. Is this an integral part of the rig, as I do not intend to cutter rig? I have a Rinnai water heater with just a draught diverter. Has anybody a gas certificate with this setup? If not, what sort of outlet have you through the roof/deck?
Sail – not sure its necessary to be fb. Main is so small though that any improvement in aerofoil shape is important. Otherwise it, so the usual prose and cons (of which there are non other than cost imho). Inner stay is crtical to proper mast alignment in mast head rig if you havethe baby stay lowers fitted. Gas – I have thesame heater. Vented directly through flu via cabin roof with vetus mushroom top vent. Vents in head door too. All cerificated.
We have a fully battened main and the only disadvantage is you have to head directly into wind to lower and raise it with lazy jacks. Not a big problem!
