Can anybody possibly help identify a bracket for my HT27 cable steering. I've attached photos of the current bracket and cable in the photos section of the site. The cable has a ball which clamps into the bracket fitting. the ball is about 1 1/4 to 1 3/8 inches (approx 35mm) in diameter. The bracket fitting secures the cable to the boat just before it attaches to the internal rudder tie bar and has disintegrated in the recent storms in Scotland. I think it is the original fitting for the HT27 (year 1991). Can anyone name the manufacturer and suggest a supplier. I only need the half of the bracket that has sheared but will buy the whole thing if necessary. If you can't identify this can you suggest an alternative fitting? Unfortunately I don't know the original name of the steering fittings.
Thanks,

The photos have been added to the “Modification and Repairs” section “HT27 Broken Steering Joint 1 & 2”. It looks like the standard “Morse” steering cable – the same as used in the Mk 3 HT. Hope that helps.
Mike [/html]25th April 2010 at 3:56 pm #11884Thanks Mike,
Norris Marine have supplied a new bracket, which although not identical I think is the new 'pressed' equivalent. I forgot to ask what make of system it was for though!
Many thanks,
