      We have recently converted the VHS Tapes of our trips to DVD but are having problems finding a workable method of convereting them to AVI files that we can download onto an external hard drive, and view them on our computers whenever we want to. Does anyone have experience of doing this? would be gratefull for any suggestions.

          thanks steve n me for the quick come back. Unfortunantly when I went to the site found that there was so much on it that I did'ent really understand what I was looking at,not very computer literate I'm afraid.I am looking for a programe that enables me to put a DVD into the drive convert it to anAVI file and then double click it and view it back on my computer. any ideas?
