Greener Safer Fuel Transfers
HTs and other boats which have petrol outboard for propulsion have the problem of topping up their fuel tanks whilst out to sea. Sometimes the conditions can be quite lively. Working in poor conditions can easily result in fuel spillage in the cockpit or overboard. Fumes can sometimes enter the boat through the cabin door. Spillage or contamination with fumes is not desirable, and spillage overboard is not good for the environment.
There is now a filler spout available which should minimize fuel transfer problems (whether petrol or diesel). It would also be useful when topping up the dinghy outboard fuel tank.
The device is called “superspoutâ€. Find out more at http://www.superspout.com or contact Rear Commodore Scotland : David Holdsworth on dhldswrth@aol.com
David can arrange supply of the spouts and give information about costs etc. Mention you are a member of the HTCCA.
Enjoy your refueling…..with no mess
