Hi All,
As a potential owner of a very sad and in a sorry state HT26 which will need extensive work, my thoughts are that while she is being gutted then having a total refit why not instigate some beneficial changes.
I have searched the forum but there is not any information regarding my proposede changes, I am also interested in changes made by other HT26 owners, is this information available anywhre, happy to pay for it.
Ther changes I would wan to make are as follows:
I would like to remove the wooden front beam and slats and replace with an aluminium beam, attach the roller furler directly onto the beam, at the same time have a central gangplank with tramps either side, anybody done this?
Also I would like to do away with the jointed steering between the rudders to clear more aft deckspace, what is the simplest but effective way of doing this?
Does anybody know where the framework, measurements, and best positioning is for a spray hood aft and rear and full cockpit enclosure?
I look forward to any replies or alterations others have done or where I could obtain such info.8th March 2009 at 8:52 pm #11788take a look at the pic of grey dove in the picturs section!

Ian31st July 2009 at 5:13 pm #11795Ian DavidH with Grey Dove up in Scotland has done a considerable amount of customization. I have not heard from him in a while but if you email me I will introduce you. If you are to replace the beam you may want to consider a bowsprit/screecher see bowsprit/screecher, a crude example, but it works!
