Hi everybody. Here is an update, for what it is worth. I am ashamed to say that Cats Paws has not improved much under my ownership. I have however had many hours of happy sailing here on the East Coast (We are based on a swinging mooring in Bradwell Creek). I still have not installed all the gear I bought when I purchased her 4(?) years ago and have been struggling to keep up with general maintenance. There is a moral here for the busy family man who comtemplates buying an old boat!! Bits are falling off now (see other post in boat section) and I have to take some serious action. We are going to Australia this summer and so I intend to bring her out for a year or more and sort out all the deck leaks cabin interiors and stuff that disturb our general comfort. Will also get the mast down for the 1st time and see what horrors are lurking up there. Will keep you posted from time to time as to how i am getting on. Happy sailing everyone.

        Dear Rod
Reasons to own a boat exhibited by owers of HTs and associated boats range from those who own a boat to go sailing and those who own a boat so they can tinker about, refit and make it shiny. There is no shame in not having done the work you orignally intended, but instead enjoying many hours of sailing, mind you, when bits begin falling off and the interior is damp the enjoyment palls. Good luck with the refit. Are the family now at a stage to be trained up to help with the work? If you have any tales of sailing or refitting we'd be happy to include it in the HTOWOA Newsletter. Sue
