Hi everyone,
I own the twins 31 no. 001 (built in 1989). After all the years the sliding door in the cockpit needs to be replaced. The old design was not very strong, more “caravan” like. 5-6 mm plexiglass framed with too small aluminium U-profiles. Would like to have a bit more like a professional solution, however couldn't find a good one up to now. I know the HT 27 has no sliding door, however someone perhaps has a good idea either on a DIY solution or perhaps on professional kits. One of the key issues seems to be the sealing of a plexiglass sheet in an adequate frame in a way to have it really tight and at the same time allow thermal expansion without damageing the glass. A simple sliding mechanism could perhaps be realised using a sort of polyamid shoes ?
I would really be greatful for any advice.
Kind regards to any “HT friend” reading thatWerner

Our HT27 has a 18mm thick plexiglass folding door. The hinges are screwed in the 18mm sides. The doorframe is standard. The door folds outward in two pieces. We have a sprayhood that keeps most water away and never have there been any leeks. Even the mid opening where the door folds in two, there is a 1mm gap. A lot of light!! But I think these plexiglass parts may be quite heavy.

(unfortunately the link does not show a picture of the door)
