I've just replaced Muddy Paws' genoa with one from Crusader and I am thrilled with the result (by the way, if you need a genoa for a couple of seasons use, i have one available for a small donation). It did however, show up how appalling the main is – much worse than the old genoa was, but it gives so much less drive anyway, I did the genoa first.

Anyway, it's a fully battened one so do i have to replace with a fuly battened main? Is that because we don't have a kicker? Do any of you have a loose footed main?

      Suggestions and ideas welcomed.

By the way, Crusader have a very nice HTOWOA discount running at the moment – saved me £150.

Greydove's main is fully battened, loose footed, with roller cars on each batten. The roach is cut very high and the leach is nearly parallel with the luff to about half way up. A powerful sail for an HT26 given that my mast is 35 ft (10.8m). I have three reefs with the third reducing the sail area by 2/3. Saturn Sails, who have a lot of multi-hull expertise, built the sail and recommended the loose foot. I have multi-sheave blocks to adjust the foot tension and the halyard is 2:1 to enable easier luff tensioning. It works!
