Has anyone ever taken down the partition between the 2 aft cabins? It looks like our partition is laminated wood on top of plywood and cannot find any screws that go into the fibreglass bulkheads. We see that these partitions can be removed. Any comments would be appreciated.

4th November 2006 at 6:15 pm #11379Hi Guys.
Would like this information as well. I have heard, but not confirmed that one can cut it out but leave a small lp so a temp can be installed if required.
However, does one need to fit a support beam ????Best regards

I cut out the dividing bulkhead in Grey Dove (HT 26) years ago. The bulkhead is a non-structural screen (or curtain) wall and was easily removed. No replacement stiffening is required. The resulting space was massive and I was able to fit two hanging wardrobes and a central rack of drawers on the forward bulkhead with no significant loss of space.
However…….as we are just about to live aboard, we have decided to replace the bulkhead, but offset 600mm to one side, in order to make a small single cabin; for storage or a teenage granddaughter. It still leaves a large and bright double after cabin, with the bunk athwartships. DavidH9th January 2007 at 7:22 pm #11381Hi Dave
Very interesting.
We have just been to visit our new purchase in Mallorca. That is one of the things we were asking about. Do you have any picks after it was changed.
They would help a lotBest regards
